Funding
At Moving Mountains Therapy, we are committed to helping parents support their children in accessing ongoing occupational therapy and speech therapy. The following funding options and services are available to assist with occupational therapy and speech therapy at our clinics.
Medicare
A Chronic Disease Management Plan (CDMP) can assist in supporting your child’s care. Eligibility for this plan is determined by your GP, based on your child’s individual needs. If eligible, families can access a partial rebate for up to five allied health services per calendar year under this plan.
Private Health
All our occupational therapists and speech pathologists are registered with either their professional association or registration board, and have Medicare provider numbers. This means for eligible services, you may be able to claim on your private health funds, pending on your level of extras cover. Please check with your individual health fund regarding rebates and eligibility under your level of cover.
NDIS
We offer NDIS funded services under the Early Childhood Supports and Therapeutic Supports – Capacity Building Categories for families. We can accept families who are self or plan managed.
*Services provided by AHA’s may be claimed through NDIS funding, however cannot be claimed through private health or Medicare.
Medicare 135 (previously Helping Children With Autism - HCWA)
The Medicare 135 plan n is available through Medicare for children diagnosed with complex neurodevelopmental disorders. This includes autism, adhd, intellectual disability, fetal alcohol spectrum disorder, 22q deletion syndrome, CP, Fragile X, Down syndrome + other syndromes (refer online), severe sight and hearing impairments.
To be eligible, a child must have a diagnosis with impacts across 2 or more domains:
Adaptive functioning
Cognition
Attention
Social and emotional development
Language and speech skills
Executive functioning
This plan allows families to claim rebates for:
Up to four allied health assessment sessions (per child in total)
Up to 20 allied health therapy sessions (per child in total)
A referral from an assessing paediatrician is required.
The rebate does not cover the full cost of sessions, and sessions must be paid in full prior to accessing refunds. We do not bulk bill. Please contact Medicare for more information.
